Sittings at the client’s home or office or the artist’s studio are scheduled. After pose, clothing, and background are decided upon, sketches are done and photos are taken in one or two sittings. The painting is then completed in the artist’s studio. If time allows, the painting can be done entirely from life or begun from life and completed from photos taken during the painting sessions. Each artist works differently; procedure will vary. The client’s approval is essential before delivery and framing. A contract is drawn up at the start indicating the fee for the painting commissioned. A 50% deposit is required before the first sitting and the remainder billed upon delivery. We ensure that your artistic sensibilities are met along with your budgetary needs and time constraints.
