Sittings at the client’s home or office or the artist’s studio are scheduled. After pose, clothing, and background are decided upon, sketches are done and photos are taken in one or two sittings. The painting is then completed in the artist’s studio. If time allows, the painting can be done entirely from life or begun from life and completed from photos taken during the painting sessions. Each artist works differently; procedure will vary. The client’s approval is essential before delivery and framing. A contract is drawn up at the start indicating the fee for the painting commissioned. A 50% deposit is required before the first sitting and the remainder billed upon delivery. We ensure that your artistic sensibilities are met along with your budgetary needs and time constraints.

Our mission is to help our clients by streamlining the portrait process. Choosing the right portrait artist, and all that follows that choice, can be overwhelming. Portrait Specialists ensures that the project does not become too encumbering for our clients. We oversee every step of the way, so that the progression is smooth and there is little interruption to a sitter’s busy schedule. We guide our sitter on myriad subjects beginning with attire, atmosphere, and through the final framing of the portrait. We keep in close communication throughout the entire process, supplying updates when warranted, and are available on a 24/7 basis. Most importantly, we deliver the final product, a museum-quality painting, only when the sitter is completely satisfied.
